Account & data deletion

1. Overview

This is the official account-deletion page for Nsawabode (Android package com.nsawabode.mobile), provided by Goad Technologies. You can delete your account yourself in the app, or contact us to request deletion of the personal data associated with your account.

2. Delete your account in the app

To delete your account from the Nsawabode app:

• Open the app and go to your Account or Profile screen.

• Select “Delete account”.

• Confirm when prompted.

What happens next: your account profile and sign-in credentials are removed immediately and your active sessions end. Because a family owns and controls its funeral records, contribution records and receipts for events you organised are retained as the family's records unless the family also requests their deletion (see below).

3. When deletion takes effect

Your account profile and sign-in credentials are removed immediately, and all active sessions are ended. Account deletion cannot be undone. To use Nsawabode again, you must create a new account.

4. Request deletion without the app

To request deletion without using the app, email hello@nsawabode.com with the subject “Data deletion” and include the email address or phone number registered to your Nsawabode account. We may ask you to verify your identity.

What we delete

• Your account profile (name, phone number, email) and your sign-in sessions.

• Security and audit entries that personally identify you, except where we must keep them by law.

What may be retained

• Contribution records and receipts that belong to a family as the controller of a funeral event, unless the family also requests their deletion.

• Limited data we are required to keep by law, and anonymised or aggregated data that no longer identifies you.

We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days and will confirm by email when done.

5. Deleting contributor or event data

Contributor and event records belong to the family or organizer, who is the data controller. If you are a contributor and want your details or a tribute corrected or removed, please contact the family or organizer, or contact us and we will forward the request. On a controller's verified instruction, we will delete or correct the relevant records.

6. SMS opt-out

Contributors can stop receiving event messages at any time by contacting the family, or by contacting us at hello@nsawabode.com. Once opted out, a contributor is no longer sent messages for that event.
